Choices

This time, I stepped upon a cloud. For once, I thought I had arrived in hell. In the red blood sky, it was hard not to notice or feel the heat of the orange giant star.

"What are you doing here!? To the base now!"

I turned to see a winged creature. An angel in hell? I wasn't staying here any longer. I pressed shut my eyes and evaporated.

I stepped out and looked around. People here seemed sympathetic enough.

"What did he do?" I asked a by-stander, pointing to someone being arrested by a weird clothed man.

"Walked on the lawn of the park. The execution's tonight."

What was the meaning of this?

"You, who are you?" The same weird man walked to me. "You are in breach of the first law for not wearing your ID."

I emerged into another world. Maybe this was the one? Yet, before me, a girl crept towards some guard, knife in hand. From behind, I covered her mouth with my hand and pulled her away.

"Who goes there?" the guard shouted.

Fortunately, he didn't notice us.

"What… who are you? I need to save my mom by all means!"

I wasn't going away this time. I was needed here.
